While James has had a profound interest in politics since he was a child, it wasn’t until the 2016 election that his interest turned into a passion. Before starting at Occidental College, James took a gap year where he cultivated that passion through an internship with Students for Justice.
Most recently, he has served as a campaign intern for Delaware’s Congresswoman, Lisa Blunt Rochester. In this role, he helped draft social media posts, organize events, and work on campaign finance.
James is a rising sophomore at Occidental where he plans on majoring in Politics and minoring in Economics. This past year, he was elected as one of two class senators, giving him the unique role of serving as the liaison between administration and students. Outside of the classroom, James loves weightlifting, playing basketball for Occidental, fishing, and traveling.
